Everwild Retreats creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind homes in some of our favorite places in the country—designed for families and friends to get outside, reconnect, celebrate, and make incredible memories together.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Anastasia and James Foster, Everwild combines the amenities and attention to detail of a boutique hotel with the space, privacy, and comfort of a home. Today, you'll find us in the North Carolina mountains, Arizona desert, and along the Washington coast.

Our Story

Everwild really started with the way we love to travel.

For us, seeing the world isn't about checking another city or museum off a list. We want to experience what makes a place different. We want the mountains, the ocean, the desert, the wildlife, the trails. We want to get outside and actually experience the nature of a destination.

But we also really love coming home at the end of the day to somewhere beautiful. A great bed. A hot tub under the stars. A fire with the family. A kitchen everyone ends up gathered around. All of those little luxuries that make a vacation feel special.

That's the heart of Everwild: incredible homes in places that make you want to get outside and explore.

Our backgrounds made Everwild a pretty natural fit. We both spent our careers in technology while also spending years in real estate—building new homes, renovating and flipping properties, and operating rentals.

Today, Anastasia is Everwild's Founder & CEO and runs the company day-to-day, while James is our Co-Founder & CTO, bringing his experience as a technology leader at one of the world's largest hospitality companies.

Everwild became this really fun intersection of everything we love: travel, nature, design, real estate, hospitality, and technology. We use technology and AI quite a bit behind the scenes, but never as a replacement for actual hospitality. There are real people behind every Everwild stay—and that's incredibly important to us.

We design each property individually, and we're probably a little obsessive about the details. We stay in our homes, bring our own family, use the amenities, explore the area, and are constantly finding things we want to add, change, or make better.

We love wild places. Mountains, forests, deserts, and coastlines. We just also happen to love hot tubs, saunas, cold plunges, swim spas, fire pits, beautiful design, and a really comfortable bed after exploring them.

Technology helps us operate Everwild, but people make it special. We have incredible local teams in every destination who care for our homes and our guests alongside us. Many of the people behind an Everwild stay live right in the communities you're visiting.

We believe that if we're lucky enough to build a business in these beautiful places, we should support the people and communities who make them special, too.

We hire locally whenever we can and love connecting our guests with local chefs, wellness providers, guides, small businesses, and experiences.

We also give back through every booking, supporting causes close to the communities where we operate—from the Sedona Humane Society in Arizona to Hurricane Helene relief and recovery efforts in Western North Carolina.

For us, being part of a destination means contributing to it, not just operating there.
